WHAT IS PROFHILO?
Profhilo is a bio remodelling compound, neither a type of dermal filler nor biorevitaliser, it contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid (64mg/2ml) available in the UK. Once injected, it lasts in the skin for about 28 days.
Profhilo works deep within the skin at a cellular level to cause thermal cross-linking of cells. It’s unique slow release of hyaluronic acid means it is able to stimulate four different types of elastin and collagen within this time frame. These increased levels of elastin and collagen result in the tightening, lifting and boosting of the skin.
The extremely high concentration of hyaluronic acid creates a weightless volume and intense hydration of the skin, leaving a glow from within and younger, fresher skin. This is not a “filler”, it does not add volume or alter your facial features. Therefore there is no need to worry about looking fake or unnatural. It is boosting your own collagens production in the skin.

How long do results last?
Results typically last between 6 to 9 months, after which the course can be recommenced.
Does it hurt?
Profhilo is administered as a set of 5 injection points per area using the BAP technique. Injec-tions are made at very specific areas to ensure minimum discomfiture, reduced possibility of bruising and maximum results through the minimum number of treatments required. The en-tire area is numbed prior to any treatments in order to minimise discomfort.
Are there any side-effects?
The special technique used for Profhilo administration results in visible lumps under the skin at the point of injection. These dissipate quickly and are normally self resolved within 24 hours.
Profhilo itself is formulated from hyaluronic acid, a compound which is naturally occurring in the skin. As it breaks down it is naturally dispelled from the body.
How soon will I see results?
The Profhilo treatment at The Medispa is done as a course of two treatments set four weeks apart. Results are visible within four weeks, with maximum results in between 6 to 8 weeks.
